Every romance needs a villain to keep things interesting

Saints and Sinnas CoverYou always need a villain to keep a good book interesting. Villains can be anyone, male, female, pretty or ugly, rich or poor. But for me it’s always more interesting when they don’t look like they should be bad, yet they’re pretty much horrible. Continue reading “Every romance needs a villain to keep things interesting”

Stop distracting me. I can’t live on love. Or can I?

Saints and Sinnas CoverMen are  the best and the  worst kind of distraction. You know you need to work, but there they are with their big eyes and big hands and big…appetites. It’s hard to resist when you really don’t want to anyway. Who needs a job, right? I bet a woman could live on love, if it was good, and let’s face it, Tan love would be…or so Sinna believes. Continue reading “Stop distracting me. I can’t live on love. Or can I?”

There’s something sexy about a man with a plan – and little to no concern for your age

Saints and Sinnas CoverThere’s nothing more annoying than a man who has no opinions. Or, one who doesn’t plan. To me that indicates a lack of care or concern. Neither of which is attractive in fiction – or in real life. My heroes? Alphas, baby. Even when the culture wants them to be sweet. *winks*  Continue reading “There’s something sexy about a man with a plan – and little to no concern for your age”

A Taste of Life Dating a K-pop Idol? A Hassle, Yes. Enough? Not On Your Music Loving Life

I love a forthright man. There’s something terribly  sexy  about a man who lays his cards on the table: Here it is, love it or leave it, honey. But pretty please love it! Le sigh. It’s like, ok, daddy. I will, I do! I suspect that’s why my dating  life is strictly fictional LOL. In … Continue reading A Taste of Life Dating a K-pop Idol? A Hassle, Yes. Enough? You’re an Idol. You Date Me, There Will Be Problems

Saints and Sinnas CoverKorean K-pop idols are special. They’re usually talented, gorgeous, their lives are extremely regulated and regimented, and they’re often not allowed to date until they’re older and more established. Even then, it’s not uncommon for a girlfriend or boyfriend to go over very badly with their fans. It spoils the illusion that the idol lives only for them. Many choose to hide their relationships, which comes with its own risks and angst. Continue reading “You’re an Idol. You Date Me, There Will Be Problems”

Practicality and lovemaking, always the two shall mix

Saints and Sinnas CoverI’m a super practical person. Which would seem to be at odds with my love for romantic things, but for me, intermingling the two makes perfect sense. If a man really wants to build a great relationship with  you, he should think of the practical. After all, getting those necessary things out of the way leaves the field clear for all the loving and other non essential essentials, if you know what I mean. Back story, research trips, and my visit to Seoul, South Korea

Saints and Sinnas CoverGuess what? I just got back from Seoul! Yup. I actually went to the place featured in my upcoming series. I’ve wanted to go for a while now, but I’m not a frequent traveler, and it’s not exactly around the way. But I enjoyed the trip. Korean Air was the best airlines experience I’ve ever had, and I was super prepared: compression socks, neck pillow, wet wipes, face mist, face towelettes, I was ready! Continue reading “Back story, research trips, and my visit to Seoul, South Korea”

You know it’s love when you want to know more and more about him. Then when you find out, it’s still not enough

Saints and Sinnas CoverI’ve always loved romance novels. Like, literally always, LOL. I’ve been reading them since before I fully understood what was happening in the love scenes.

I started reading Harlequin Presents. You’ve probably seen one or two of those old school white paperbacks with the circle in the middle bearing the hero and heroine’s picture?  Those formula romance tales cemented my love for a good romantic tale. But in order for the story to resonate, the characters have to be fully formed. They can’t just fuck. Continue reading “You know it’s love when you want to know more and more about him. When a man really wants you, there’s nothing he won’t do or say to win you

Saints and Sinnas CoverWhen a man wants you he will do whatever it takes to get you. He’ll chat, answer questions, negotiate, be persuasive, spend money, all that good stuff.  In this unedited snippet from my latest WIP – which picks up where last week’s left off – Tan comes straight to the point while on his first date with Sinna, and can I say, he came to play no games.
