When you already love a woman to bits — and then she introduces you to a new sexual concept

Saints and Sinnas CoverOne reason I love reading and writing romance novels is because you get a glimpse behind the curtain. At least, in the books I like you do. The author will let you know what the man and woman are thinking — even if the hero and heroine remain oblivious to each others thoughts, which is often part of the plot. Side characters make the world go ’round — and make a story soooo good

I love side characters. They’re like the supporting characters in movies or TV shows. They’re colorful, they make things interesting, and they’re wonderful tools to advance a story forward — or they should be. In this blog, which picks up where last week’s left off, I offer more from Sinna’s visit from Lani and Tommy. You may recall they were participating in her first appearance on a South Korean talk show, and it was going very well. LOL Continue reading “Side characters make the world go ’round — and make a story soooo good”

When your girls are just as bad ass as you, and everyone in the world knows it

Saints and Sinnas CoverI’ve always written about families of characters. Meaning, from one of my books to the next, you will see the some of the same supporting characters. I enjoy the continuity, and if I’m honest, I have a tendency to fall in love — or very serious like — with my characters, and I can’t bear for them to be relegated to just one story. You take the bad with the good, but you should always push it aside for love

Saints and Sinnas CoverI have an old friend, one of my oldest friends, actually, and he loves when I tell him stories from my books. He says they feel familiar, like he’s seen it in a movie, and he always shouts out the next part: “He died!” No, fool, I laughed recently. “Few people die in my books.” Though I do have some things planned… Continue reading “You take the bad with the good, but you should always push it aside for love”

The rise of the side character – the people you want to steal the narrative scene

I love side characters. I love them so much, I have side characters who’ve made an appearance in more than one of my books. It’ not hard, since I tend to write about families or groups of friends, each person getting their own story. For me, side characters are integral to the story. It’s like … Continue reading The rise of the side character – the people you want to steal the narrative scene

You know he cares, but when someone trustworthy confirms it, that’s special

Saints and Sinnas CoverWell, the world’s still crazy. Between the ‘rona and the demonstrations still happening all over the world in support of the #blacklivesmatter movement, it pretty much seems like 2020 is going to be a wash. Like, seriously. We need a global reboot at this point. Afterward maybe everyone will be healthy, happy, fair and just. Continue reading “You know he cares, but when someone trustworthy confirms it, that’s special”

You’ve gotta admit, these K-pop bromances are a little suspicious

Saints and Sinnas CoverIt feels weird to be working on a book pre-George Floyd. It’s not like the #blacklivesmatter movement wasn’t a thing before I started this story, but Floyd’s unintentional martyrdom has kicked the world into a different kind of angst. It’s crazy right now. The ‘rona is still out there, and race in America is like a powder keg. Continue reading “You’ve gotta admit, these K-pop bromances are a little suspicious”
