Marilyn Monroe died 50 years ago yesterday. Few actresses have been able to create such a vibrant legacy or such a romantic one. Not just because of the mysteries surrounding her untimely death, but those that surrounded her life and work. There are so many beautiful photos of Marilyn at her sexy bombshell best, but I thought this one captured another side of her that I find particularly compelling in films like Some Like It Hot and How to Marry a Millionaire, her sweetness. The va va voom is still there, but when you add the smile…captivating.
