Everywhere you turn these days, some powerful man is on fire for misconduct, losing his job, reputation going down in flames, legacy tarnished worse than metal left out in a warm Southern rain. I say better than never for that light to shine on their misdeeds, but I feel for all of the women who are reliving past shame and sadness, memories they’d probably have preferred never to resurrect again.
But it got me thinking about men who come back from the past. Only this one isn’t a perv. This one is that love that got away. The one who made your panties melt but vanished without a word. Continue reading “Not every man who misbehaved in the past deserves to be forgiven. But in rare cases, there’s one or two who deserve a second chance at love.”
I don’t want to, but I love that classic romance novel trope of the poor virgin and the rich man. I even wrote one with Paying For It. But I spun it a little bit in that my heroine Tunie isn’t a complete pushover. That’s part of the reason she’s able to turn my hero Charles inside out. In the end, she saves him.
In this snippet I offer you a glimpse into her past, a horrible glimpse of what helped craft her into the tough cookie my Charlie can’t live without.
Paying For It is out now.
SS Continue reading “This poor little girl packed a helluva punch – in bed and out.”
I adore rags to riches romance. You know, poor girl meets rich guy, and after some shenanigans, misunderstandings, hot sex and a few puppy dog tails thrown in for good measure, wa la! HEA.
There’s just something so appealing about a rich and powerful man who wants to spend all his lovely cash on some hard up but worthy heroine. Destitute aristocrat meets tech zillionaire, former high school princess fallen on hard times meets boy next door made good, any variation therein, and I’m sold.
My latest book is that kind of romance. Only heroine Sophie was once rich herself. She became poor quite by accident. How I ain’t gonna tell ya. Ya got to read it if you wanna know the deets. But I do have this here snippet to whet your appetite.
The Siege of Sophie is out now.
She’d sent a zillion emails looking for freelance jobs this morning, applied to every job she was even sort of qualified for and reminded all of her agency contacts that she was available for temp work. Apparently so was everyone else.
She should open the mail. But why rush? Those bitchy white envelopes with their slim plastic windows held bills not checks. Bills she couldn’t afford to pay. Continue reading “She was poor, tired and sad. Then a rich jerk waltzed in and ate her damn breakfast. Worst day ever.”
Warning: Language may be offensive.
You know the type. The ones who think they can hurt you with impunity. Then, when you kick ’em out they wait a while for things to cool off, then try to ease back in.
But when that last time finally comes, and there are no more do overs left, they turn ugly. Somehow they just can’t believe you’re no longer their fool for love, and bad shit happens.
Check out this scene from my latest The Siege of Sophie
“That’s far enough.”
He grimaced. “I’m sorry about last time, Sophie.” He gestured vaguely to her face. “I regret it. Are you alright?”
“Like you fucking care. Why do you keep coming back here? I told you to stay away from me.” Continue reading “Snippet: They could have treated you like you have a tail, but certain men never want to let you go.”
Not every woman wants to be saved. But when she finds the right man, he will save her whether she wants him to or not. Meet Sophie Clark and Lado Marick. She’s a down on her luck writer. He’s a successful lawyer. When their paths – or swords – cross over a freelance assignment, he … Continue reading My latest erotic romance The Siege of Sophie is now live!
Hello! Long time no read. I know. I’m shitty for not posting in forever, but I want you to know I’ve been thinking about you every day. I’ve been writing almost every day too, but it’s been more like a trickle than a flood. This whole full time job thing is so inconvenient! I keep hoping they’ll fire me, but no. So I keep going, they keep paying and sucking up all the primo writing time during the day. Fuckers. But I’m back with an unedited snippet from my upcoming novel The Siege of Sophie. Enjoy, comment, and know that this lengthy blog absence is now over.
Refresher: This story is a classic really. Heroine falls on hard times, hero steps in to save the day in more ways than one. But there are a few twists here and there, and you’ll see a few familiar characters return from Ineffable, Tommy, Steele, Margot and the crew. Sophie is an old, familiar friend who’s been absent from the circle due to financial trouble. Her mother also died and with it a long and rather worthless relationship. These things are all connected and have created a perfect storm of shit that has taken our heroine down and would have buried her in depression if she wasn’t such a stubborn little cuss. Continue reading “Snippet: When a man says, “Let’s play a game,” however much you may want to, don’t run.”
I’m not dead! No, you know I’m not. You know I’ve just been writing and living and feeling terribly guilty for not blogging regularly. But you knew I was living ‘cuz you follow me on Instagram, right? No matter; all that’s about to change. I’m devoting myself to my romance writing. By the end of 2017 … Continue reading It’s Coming…
