I luv me some old school Stevie. I enjoy his more recent cuts too, but there was something so raw about his early stuff. The imperfect delivery displayed in this 1969 performance is more common to music pre-90s, I think, but it is in no way deficient or less than more polished, modern music. In a way, this is more honest, certainly more natural, and more easily accessible to the heart and the spirit.
