We’re in the home stretch, babies! I’ve finished the book, and am now entrenched in the editing process. And – ta da – we have a name – Paying For It.
Meanwhile, I thought I’d share the new book cover. My current cover collaborator Travis Rothe is sooo talented it’s sick. He hand painted some elements and designed others. It’s perfect really. Tunie looks vulnerable, Charlie looks strong, we hint at her art – read the book for more on that – but at the end of the day, I got the sense that she was the stronger one of the two. Like she was allowing him to be her strength not because she needed it – although she does need somethings; it’s how the story came about – but because she wanted it that way. You can see it in the lines of her body. The curve of her back, the blissful look on her face.
I hope you like it! I posted it nice and big so you can see all the little details. Lemme know if you want to work with Travis. I’d be happy to introduce you to him, he’s a genius.
I’m confused by the cover. Is Tunie an African American woman? Hard to judge from the cover.I know that, as an African American woman, we come in all shades and sized but I guess in my imagination I had pictured her as darker.
