Virgins in romance novels are as pleasurable a pairing as peanut butter and jelly. It’s one of my favorite tropes, especially when the virgin is doing his or her best not to be.Tan is an extremely sexy virgin, the K-pop version of a unicorn. He’s playing a game with our heroine Sinna to see who will crack and give in first. In this blog from my soon to be released romance novel “Saints and Sinnas” – which picks up where last week’s blog left off – Tan finds to his dismay that our girl is more than willing to play… Let me know what you think!
Oh, and the picture is of South Korean actor Hyun Bin. Or, dimples as I like to call him whenever we talk – in my head. I’m watching him in two Netflix dramas simultaneously Memories of the Alhambra and Crash Landing on You. I need Dimples to do some movies. He shouldn’t have to share so much screen time with others, you know?
XOXO,
SS
Sinna was surprised when he didn’t immediately make a move, but she tried to be understanding when he revealed that he wanted to wait until they were in a committed relationship. No stranger to desire – and their chemistry was no joke – she just cocked her head and said, “We’ll see.” She expected him to crack, but it had been weeks and he was hanging tough.
Now she watched him rub the soap between his big palms and shivered when he touched her wet skin. He rubbed gently, covering her back and shoulders with lather before he carefully rinsed it off.
“Do you need privacy?”
“I’m done.”
He rose and opened a towel, then stood there with his arms out and his eyes closed. Charmed, Sinna kissed his lips and rested her head on his chest when his arms closed around her.
“Do you know that your modesty is a turn on?”
“Is it?”
She nodded. “It’s also annoying.”
“Why? Because you want me?”
She rolled her eyes at the satisfaction in his voice. “So, you’re doing it on purpose?”
He shook his head. “Certainly not.”
“God, you sound like Bik.”
“He taught me English,” he said, like, duh.
She stared at him, her eyes prominent above thick folds of cream-colored towel. She pouted and as expected he kissed her. She loved kissing him. It was always plush and sweet and faintly urgent.
She liked knowing that he was holding himself back. The passion he couldn’t hide made her tingle and warm. At first she was tickled by his insistence that they not make love yet. Now it was a matter of pride; she couldn’t give in first. She also couldn’t ask him when he planned to ask her to be his girlfriend and end their “some” relationship.
“What a fucking story that would be,” she told Saint, who watched with interest to see who would break first. “Oh, I was so horny, you see, and he wouldn’t fuck me until I had the promise ring on my finger.”
Her saving grace was work. Plus, Tommy and Lani were coming to Seoul soon. Tommy’s jewelry happy ass would probably take him to get a ring. She had no doubt her friend already had appointments with the city’s best jewelers for herself. She’d consider Sinna’s future husband an eminently worthy side project.
“What’s your schedule?”
“We have a photo shoot in a few hours and rehearsal tonight. I have to shoot V Live and review schedule with my manager. The variety show is tomorrow.”
“Saint’s coming with you to the shoot.”
“I wish you would.”
She shook her head. “His aesthetic is better for this kind of streetwear. He’ll make sure you look good.”
“I know. I just want you there.”
“I gotta check that everything arrived safely, get my team situated, and make sure the costumes are ready for the variety show. I’m also meeting with a few Japanese designers who want to work with 501K.”
Someone knocked.
“That’s food. Don’t fall asleep,” he ordered.
Too late.
