I love side characters and quick sex scenes. Maybe it’s my age? But those sex scenes that drag on for pages, I’m over it. I want my character to get theirs, but then I want to get back to the story.
Sometimes I wonder if I should even bill myself as an erotic romance novelist, but then I think about the nature of my sex scenes, and I’m like, yeah. They may not last for pages, but they aren’t PG sweet.
As for the side characters I think of them like supporting actors in a movie. Good ones make everything better. Sometimes they even steal the show. It’s why so many of mine end up getting their own books! LOL
In my latest blog, which picks up where last week’s leaves off, Sinna is still giving Tan the run down on her soon to be arriving friends from Chicago. He, of course, has something else on his mind…
Oh, the picture is of South Korean actor Jung Hae In. I’m trying to watch him in “A Piece of Your Mind” but it’s kinda slow. I need him to be in something sexy, or play a bad guy. This pensive, nice guy with a bowl hair cut phase he’s in is getting stale. He cute tho’.
XOXO,
SS
“Even worse? She’s a rather cold woman, and Bubs prefers Tommy. He came to live with them permanently about six months ago, not long after Dominic moved back to the states.”
“Is she a bad mother?”
“No, I think Victoria was a good mother. Their three older children are fabulous, and Bubs wasn’t ill treated. But once he met Tommy, he refused to go back. He cried himself sick when that first visit was supposed to end. We were shocked when Victoria went along with it, but I have a feeling Dominic didn’t give her much choice. Tommy did the fool too.”
“Did the fool?”
“The way I heard the story, she told Dom, this is what you get for giving me, a childless woman, this beautiful baby. If he goes, you’re going with him.”
Tan’s eyes widened.
“Tommy’s a tough cookie,” Sinna offered. “She knew it was unfair, but she didn’t care.”
“Well, it worked out.”
“Yup. Lani is also bringing her two oldest children, Leo and Lani. They’re twins, they speak Korean, and they’re huge on YouTube.”
“Oh? How old are they?”
“16, I think? They’re in high school. Lola is a singer. She plays the piano and can dance. Leo can sing as well, and he plays the guitar. They’re extremely talented. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a Korean-American collab somewhere in the near future. They met Formula1 recently, and the videos were extremely popular.”
“I think I saw that online… Yes, I remember her! She and her brother are beautiful. I remember their mother too. The other lady with the short hair and light eyes, is that Tommy?”
“Yup,” Sinna laughed. “That’s her. I’m not surprised you remember them.”
“They’re all beautiful. You don’t believe in ugly friends, huh?”
Sinna laughed. “Nope. I’m like you in that regard.”
“The members will be pleased to meet them. You will introduce us?”
“Of course. The twins will insist. But they’re still babies and quite sheltered, so –”
“Don’t worry. We’ll take care of them.”
“Good. Their parents are very protective. Lani said one reason Jeremy came was because he saw how Formula1 reacted to the twins. But I doubt we’ll see much of him. He’s in the middle of a book tour, and he has some press to do here, in Taiwan and in Hong Kong. This is a working holiday for everyone.” Sinna muttered something as she read an email.
“Problem?”
“No. A delay.” She also had to ask Saint for a favor, and even though he’d enjoy it and it would make them some extra money, he’d give her hell on principal.
“Put that down, please.”
She shot him a look. “You tryna get a shot in, I see.”
“Yeah.”
She laughed. He sounded so American sometimes. “I need to work.”
“I’ll be quick.”
“How is that to my benefit?”
“I’ll make sure you get yours.”
“You’ve turned into a monster.”
“So?” He was already pulling her skirt up.
Too American.
“I’m gonna start calling myself The Kingmaker,” she muttered, raising her hips so he could get her panties off. “Don’t you have rehearsal?”
“Yes. That’s why I’ll make it quick.”
Sinna laughed. “I give up.”
Thank you.
There was no talking for a while. He always kissed her like they’d been separated by a war, squeezed her as if there was a breath of air between them and he had to kill it dead. She loved it. Just as she loved the way he held her, the way he whispered how much he loved their bed play, and how he caressed her body in his slightly rough but tender way.
It never failed to activate her senses, to get her heart pounding and her blood flowing. It was like a green light turned on beneath her skin: Go now, and go fast.
“It’s always so good,” she whispered, shuddering when he pushed his way inside her heat.
“Yeah,” he grunted, hips already moving.
