Our hero Tan is determined to get the girl. He’s pulling out all the stops, making all the right arguments, and since he’s fine, sweet, rich and our heroine isn’t stupid, it’s on! In this week’s blog, which picks up where my last left off, XOXO, will our favorite K-pop idol get the answer he wants to this most important question of questions? Of frickin’ course. But then what happens? When I publish the book, you’ll know lol. Soon!
Let me know what you think!
The picture is South Korean actor Lee Dong Wook. He’s not my bias, but there’s something about him that’s beautiful. He has a way of looking at you from that pale, perfectly sculpted face that’s difficult to look away from. I’m enjoying him in “Tale of the Nine-Tailed.” He does a nice line in other worldly.
SS
“No! I’m not laughing at you, honey. You just present such a great argument. You appeal to all the right things: freedom, new experiences, a good life, choice. Then you cut right down to the heart of the matter: Do I love you? If I do, then yes is the only possible answer,” she teased.
He pulled her close, her legs automatically wrapping his hips, and gently kissed her lips. “Do you, my darling? Do you love me enough to say yes?”

She held the side of his handsome face with its earnest, worried eyes, and ran her thumb over his lips. “Yes. I do. I will marry you, Tanvir. I don’t even know what kinds of fuckery I’m letting myself in for, but I know it will be my eternal pleasure to be your wife. Are you sure your parents are gonna be okay with this?” she asked, near breathless since he was now squeezing her to death.
“Oma already knows I want you to be my wife. She helped me pick out your ring.”
Sinna’s eyes almost swallowed her face. “Bullshit.”
He nodded. “She thinks you’re perfect for me.”
“How could she think that? We’ve never met.”
He shrugged. “I talk about you a lot. And I think she’s been pumping Bik and the others for information.”
Sinna snorted. “I doubt it took much. He’s a big talker, that one.”
“Yes.” He grinned. “You said yes.”
“I sure did,” she said ruefully.
“I won’t let you take it back.”
“I don’t want to take it back. I love you, pabo.” Idiot.
The next second she was flat on her back.
“Darling,” he whispered. Thank you.
She smiled, stretching beneath him as she did her part to fit their curves and angles together, and she stayed there for the rest of the night.
“Only you would leave here drunk and come back engaged,” said Tommy, as she and Lani admired the ring the next morning.
Tan was already gone to his first appointment for the day when Sinna woke up. She was practically fizzing with a combination of fear and excitement. She wanted her girls to tell her the truth: You’re batshit crazy. Or, holy crap. Congratulations! She low key expected the former, but she still exhaled Terry McMillian style when they came out with the latter.
“You said you’re going straight to work. Is Cressida bringing you clothes?” Lani
“No, I saw something in the hotel gift shop last night that I like. On my way up, I saw it’s still in the window. I’m just waiting for them to open. My accessories will work.”
“I still can’t believe it,” Lani breathed. She’d swooned as Sinna recounted the proposal and what each of them said. “It was so matter of fact, yet so charmingly elegant. He’s really very smart,” she said approvingly.
“Just like you,” Tommy said, oozing satisfaction. “We should order mimosas to celebrate!”
“How about some juice, darling?” Dominic and his eternal health kick.
“Mimosas are half juice,” she reminded him.
He rolled his eyes and continued feeding Bubs, who grinned at them, and tried to escape his dad’s lap to run to them.
“Ah! That’ll do,” he told the child, who subsided and opened his mouth for his next bite. “Congratulations, Sinna.”
“Thanks, Dom.”
“Let’s see it.”
She held out her ring.
“Big but not too big,” he mused. “Elegant cut, excellent clarity. He chose well, and he chose thoughtfully. Most Korean engagement rings are quite small. This diamond is distinctly American.”
“I wish somebody would give me a small diamond,” Tommy huffed. “What the hell’s the point?”
Dominic laughed softly, wiping his son’s mouth and giving the child a kiss before he kissed Tommy’s forehead and deposited the little boy in her lap. “Indeed.”
