It’s super cute when a man does things to let you know he’s got your back. Heartwarming, in fact. But when you find out he’s riding for you when you didn’t even know it? That hits you right in the gut. If I’m honest, it can hit you right in the cooch too.
A woman needs a man who will do whatever he can to make her life more comfortable. To me, that’s the ultimate demonstration of love because it says, “I want to take care of you. I want to make sure that things aren’t hard on you.” Sigh…
In this snippet from my soon to be released (really!) book “Saints and “Sinnas,” which picks up where last week’s left off, we learn just how devoted Tan really is. He’s doing all sorts of behind the scenes maneuvering to keep her happy, make her work easy, and most important, to keep her close. Let me know what you think, and thank you for reading!
Oh, and the picture is of South Korean actor Kim Myung Soo, or L, as many know him. Right now I’m watching him play a cat in “Meow, the Secret Boy.”
XOXO,
SS
How are things?
Wonderful if I wasn’t so busy.
You sound mad, Bik teased.
I am! I resent every moment I can’t see her. Sometimes we can’t meet until late at night, and then she’s asleep!
Bik just laughed. “This is the first time you’ve ever complained about your schedule. It must be love.”
“It is. At least on my side.”
Bik looked surprised. You don’t think Sinna loves you?
I don’t know. She acts like she cares, but she never says it. And even though I may not see her all day she never acts like she missed me.
But she never turns you down when you want her.
Tan rolled his eyes. No, but I don’t bother her nearly as much as I want to.
His friend laughed. What? Every time I see you, you’re after her!
Believe me, I’m restraining myself.
Making up for lost time?
Yes, but I also can’t help myself. I think of her constantly. When she’s near I have to touch her. I feel crazy if I don’t. She never seems particularly affected though.
Bik wiggled his eyebrows. Are you sure about that?
That’s not what I mean! She enjoys our lovemaking, but outside of bed she’s so, tsundere! I never know what she’s thinking. She doesn’t chatter or ask questions. She barely even looks at me because she’s always working. I look for her constantly, but she rarely seeks me out.
She knows your schedule. She knows when you’re here or outside.
Tan sighed. I know. I sound like a woman worrying about this, don’t I?
Bik clapped his best friend on the back. Don’t think like that. Man or woman, it’s natural to want to be loved. She’s the first important person in your life besides your members or your family. But I think she does love you. She’s not the type of woman to waste time with a man without good reason.
Tan laughed. Sadly, that gives me hope. I’ve become quite ruthless about getting her time.
How so?
Well, if I find business for her, she’ll be more inclined to stay in Korea.
What?
I’m behind the talk show appearance.
Bik’s eyes doubled in size, no easy feat since they were already big. Really?
Tan nodded. I had a word with Father, and soon after Uncle offered her that. She’s getting a lot of attention. People are interested, so it makes sense…
It’s not a bad strategy. Just don’t find too much work, or she’ll be too busy, and you’ll never see her.
I thought of that, and I casually mentioned to Saint a few times in different ways that it looks like their team needs help. Now she’s got two new members coming to help. They’re also getting an intern. She got more money from Uncle, again at my urging. By my reckoning she will have more time for me, not less. I’ve been worried about her. We’re used to this non-stop lifestyle, but I don’t think she is.
Bik nodded, impressed. “Nice. You’re a real man, keeping tabs on things,” he teased. “Your English is still advancing too.”
“I think I’m almost fluent,” Tan said proudly.
“There’s nothing like pillow talk to help you learn a language,” Bik winked. “Why do you think I know five?”
