Vacations are like an excuse for bad behavior. Whether it’s drinking too much, eating too much, flirting too much, or worse! The same goes when your friends bring the vacation to you. Visitors must be entertained, right?
In this snippet from my latest WIP, Sinna’s girls arrive in Seoul, and they give new meaning to the phrase, work hard, play harder!
Y’all, pray I can release this book this weekend. I want to have it up for you to buy early next week! Pray hard. LOL
Oh, and the picture is of my baby Park Seo Joon. He’s the cover for next month’s Esquire Korea. Why is he so sexy? It’s ridiculous.
XOXO,
SS
“Sinna!”
“Tommy! You here?”
“Yup! We’re on the way to the hotel. Finally! Longest damn trip ever. I’m gonna drop off my stuff, see how things are popping for these three events I’m throwing, then I’m headed your way. Barring any bullshit, gimme three, no, four hours. I gotta couple things I need to talk to you about.”
“Screw business! I got drinks chillin’.”
Tommy laughed. “You don’t mean that.”
“I do! We are drinking,” Sinna insisted.
“Oh, we’re gonna do that too. I brought a case of our vino with me from Chicago in case these motherfuckers don’t have it. I gotta hear about this new man of yours, but we can squeeze in a little business while we kick it.
“I got mad fish biting, girl. There is money to be made! Lemme call you back. You’d think the world ended while I was on the plane the way this damn phone blew up.”
“Well, just hurry up! We dusted off the red carpet and everything.”
Tommy laughed. “You a fool. Lani and everybody say hi. We’re all having dinner before we go home. See you soon!”
“They here?” Saint asked.
Sinna nodded happily. “Is everything ready for tonight?” she asked Cressida.
Her assistant nodded. “Yup! Food and drink are at home waiting. I just have to do a tiny bit of prep work.”
“We have at least four hours. Let’s wrap things up here in two and a half, no more, then head out so we can get ourselves ready for company!” Then, being Sinna, she abruptly switched gears.
“Saint, see if you can source some jazzy headbands or accessories to hold back hair during rehearsals and skincare, especially for Hyuk since he likes to do V-live while he’s in the bathroom. I don’t like what I’ve been seeing them use, and hair will be growing out over the next few weeks to accommodate the new styles I have planned.”
“Is cute okay?”
“Yeah, but with our aesthetic you know it’s better to skew a little bit older. Think edgy, different. Maybe some leopard print or metallic if you can find it. Just make sure it doesn’t clash with pajamas and what not,” she thought for a second. “Actually for skincare, bunny ears and that other aegyo nonsense is fine.”
“Jon, unfortunately Cong has lost a little weight. His insomnia has been acting up, so everyone keep an eye out in case there’s some way we can help him. Meantime, let’s scale back on some of those baggier bits and pieces unless it’s been worked on. I don’t want him looking like a scarecrow during these dance rehearsal videos. Of course, nothing with a sizable logo unless pre-approved. We got some great pieces in. I started a pile over there…”
And so it went. Sinna attacked the day’s tasks with renewed energy since a break was eminent. She spent extra time with her Korean team members, knowing she’d be absent a good chunk of the next few days. Work, however, needed to continue. Saint cornered her after Jon and Cressida left.
“You see about that thing yet?”
“Yup. She’ll be here in a week. The plane ticket was ridiculous, but it’s Mr. Big Wig’s money, so we could splurge a little.”
Saint smirked then sobered. “What’chu gon’ do about that other one?”
“I’ll wait for her to show out, then I’ma boot her. It shouldn’t take long. She’s been acting up since the beginning. She’s gonna be pissed when Vi gets here, and it will accomplish one of two things: She will either be pushed neatly over the edge, or she’ll get her silly ass together. Whichever way she jump, I win.”
